C Class Advice to IAD
 

Hi All,

I tried to search but it came up empty.

I recently switched jobs, and my new company has a deal with United, which makes me happy as a 1K. However, policy is to fly C Class only, BUT if it's a 2 cabin plane, I have to fly Y. And since I'll be doing a lot of LAX-IAD runs, was wondering what flights from LAX to IAD have 3 class service, so I can be assured of getting biz class? What about the return?

I noticed there is one flight that is a 777, but it looks like it only is a 2 class service???

The 777 for the LAX IAD LAX run is indeed a 3-class plane.

Some are, some aren't. Flights 946 and 947 appear to be, but 211 is not always (at least on the random dates I checked).

Your're safe with 946 from LAX-IAD (morning departure) and 947 from IAD-LAX (evening departure). Aircraft is usually a 777 and always (IME) 3-class.

A three class 777 flies LAX-IAD-AMS and another one flies AMS-IAD-LAX... daily. I'm 99.99% sure they keep the same flight number all the way. You could take that flight LAX/IAD and buy C seats.

Yes, been flying these two flights the last few months and are 3-class configured.
