Help with a Fully Refundable Ticket
Ticket was not purchased with my money. No it was not stolen, but an expensive gift from a nigerian uncle that passed away with 500 billion in the bank...blah blah. O yea. And he purchased it through expedia too.
I want to cancel the ticket and have it held as united credit. That is easy, but then they said once I reschedule the flight they will do a refund to the CC for the residual credit (which there will be since this is a expensive fare). Any idea on how I can retain as much of this fare as possible and do multiple bookings (for other people also would be nice)? Thanks! |

Have you tried calling back? You could even try to go to the airport or the ticketing office to reschedule. It is easier to argue and convince in person than it is on phone. Or buy a more expensive non-refundable ticket, like in first class etc.
I will try the airport if it comes to that. |
I think if you buy some silly cheapie fare and apply this refundable ticket to it, the leftover will be issued in the form of a voucher.
Does your Nigerian uncle need my bank account number to transfer $2 billion to take care of his deathly ill mother? :) |

Sounds nice and easy but they say that the residual value will go back to the original payment or so the agents say. It looks like I will have to go the nonrefundable ticket route, but where will I find a 7500 non-refund ticket?
