Flying Y Upgrade using e-500 instead of Comp question
Yesterday I flew UA106 LAX - ORD in Y and was upgraded to NC. I had assumed that the upgrade was complimentary. However, when I arrived at the Sky West counter for my first flight they told me that it would be 4 e-500s for the upgrade. So, I have two questions:
1) Do 1Ks traveling in Y get complementary upgrades? If so, how are these executed? 2) Is a government Y the same as a non-government Y? Thanks! Jeff |
If you're booked in Y on certain full Y fares, you get the comp upgrade. Govt fares are specifically excluded.
All elites get the comp upgrade if in the right Y fare, not just 1k's. There are no comp upgrades to C/F for 1K's unless on one of these full Y fares. |

Rocketman,
How did you get the upgrade to begin with? Did you request it? Sounds like it was done in advance. Just curious. William |
Comp u/g's are available for Y/B fare classes excluding government fares. Don't forget B. ^
