Best upgrade option SFO-BOS: 178 vs 176
Flying SFO-BOS on April 28. Currently on 176 waitlisted for UG and its already F0 according to seatcounter! On the other hand 178 is F9. For those familiar with this route what are my upgrade chances as a 1P if I switch to 178. I'm using miles on a B-fare.
If the odds are good then I'll switch. If it's a near-zero shot I'd rather get in earlier.
Thanks.

Any SFO-BOS flight is tough for even a 1K to upgrade, though the fact that you're using a confirmed upgrade instrument should help. I wouldn't say your odds are near zero, but I wouldn't necessarily say they're good either.

Tough to say with any certainty, but I think you stand a good chance. Coach still seems to have quite a bit of space, so smaller pool of upgraders, generally. I would make the switch and hope for the best.
