"Quiet Room" at the ORD C concourse RCC [Merged]

So this large beautiful room at ORD RCC is labeled as "Quiet Room/No Cell Phone Use". I see it and I think OMG, thank you!!! I walk in and who is occupying it? A self-important guy on his cell phone. It's nice a quiet there so he can hear himself.

So, not to be a wall flower, I go "Excuse me, this is quiet room, no cell phones please".

He says "Oh thank you". Gets off his cell phone and calls someone else two minutes later.

Of course there is no staff to complain to because it's crowded at all the desks. But I really want to walk up to the guy right now take his cell phone and throw it out of the room.

P.S. I think this used to be the smoking room as someone walked in asking where the smoking room was now...

Sorry. I was on a very important call and the rest of the club is too loud to hear.

Here's the kicker. He finally finished his very important phone call...

and left.

Now it is so nice and quiet here, I might miss my flight, it's so pleasant!

The City of Chicago moved the smoking room out to the Lower Arrivals Level recently.

Best, Dave

I have enjoyed that room as well, and never had problems with self-important yappers. I would have gotten the agent up front and ask them to remove him. Unacceptable!

Try the batroom stalls next time - that seems to be a popular place for people to make and receive calls now.

What's wrong with that? Just don't ask to borrow their cell phone afterwards.

I would have grabbed the phone and smashed it against the wall.

I wish they had these rooms at every RCC. The self-important XXXXX who are constantly jabbering about meaningless trivia are more annoying than the children (dare I say they are at the same level of emotional development )

I love the quiet room! Only had a problem in there once, and that was a guy using the phones that are installed in the room.

I stopped at the desk on my way out and asked the agent why they left phones in the quiet room. I got a big old from the lady at the desk.

What they need is to install cell signal jammers, as some churchs have done.

Well, at least a loud conversation covers up the other bathroom sounds in the RCC. The fact that everyone is traveling seems to make it worse.

Last week in the ORD RCC work statioin area a guy was watching porn. He had it muted out. I was shocked and had to walk by twice to see if I was seeing the correct thing.

Whatever you say...

Either way, wow. Which way was his screen facing?

Honestly he was. It was in the back section so not many people around. I thought it was out of place.
