Does UA block row 1 on CRJs?
I booked DEN-PSC for today a while back and the seatmap was fairly tight. At that time there was one exit row seat open (I grabbed it) and two other seats (row 6 and row 3). I’ve been checking upgrades and seat assignments on all my flights for today and no other exit or bulkhead seats had opened up on this leg. When I did OLCI this morning, the entire bulkhead row appeared as available  . So either a party of 4 with status bailed out at the last minute, or UA blocked all the bulkhead seats well in advance. Anybody else experience this?

I have never had trouble reserving row one on CRJ's. I am guessing this was just a bad coincidence.

Yes they do for disabled persons. Usually release them when OLCI is available.

The odd part is that I've never seen this before, and my backside has been in (too) many CRJ bulkhead seats. I've always been able to reserve bulkhead well ahead of time as a 1k.

IME: I've never been allowed to pre-reserve row 1 on West coast Skywest flights. I have been able to pre-reserve on midwest Messy flights.
|
I have been told by Skywest that on CRJ's Row 1 is blocked until 24 hours before the flight and then their seats are released. Every time I have called 24 hours in advance I get seat 1B or 1C.:)

I just looked at a Dec 26th flight on Skywest and noticed that row 1 was 'occupied.' Mesa flight for Dec 20th showed open. Seems to confirm above posts that only Skywest does this.
(Yes I plan Christmas trips early for saver awards ;) ) |
Back in December I upgraded CRJ's flight MSP-IAD using 500 miles cert and reserved seat in row 1 several days in advance.

I have often been able to book just one side of the bulkhead in advance on CRJs (Air Wisconsin policy?)
