Schedule Changes show multiple entries for same flight???
 On both an upcoming domestic and international multi-segment itinerary, they are identified on the "My Itineraries" list as Schedule Change. When I open the itinerary, both the old and new flights are shown for each leg of the itinerary. Both flights for each segment are labeled as Schedule Change. The only way by which I can infer which is the new schedule is by comparing my hard-copy of the original schedule against the two entries and assuming the one that is different is the new schedule. This is ludicrous! Why don’t the old segment schedules disappear as I believe they did on the old site? To further the confusion/concern, my requested upgrade is shown as pending on the original schedule, but not on the new one departing 5 minutes later.
Even if one can puzzle this out, it leaves me with a list of 8 segments for a 4 segment trip. Is this a new United game…guess your itinerary? Oh yeah, I also had to rebook another international itinerary to later dates. The rebooked itinerary looks fine. But, the original itinerary is still listed with nothing about it that looks like it was cancelled. The rebooking was done about 3-4 weeks ago. I plan on calling United to get reassurance that everything is as it should be, but that really contravenes the whole point of a web site which is to answer questions and reduce customer service calls. Am I the only one who is having this type of problem? |

As they say, you can't please everyone... |
it might be useful if...
they clearly identified which was the old and which the new schedule. Here's an example:
Sat, Jan xx, 2007 - Washington, DC (IAD) to Los Angeles, CA (LAX) United 0824 Depart: IAD 08:35 AM Arrive: LAX 10:59 AM Non-stop 5h 36m 763 2,288 miles traveled Booking class: W Economy 2288 Award miles Food for Purchase Flight: Schedule change Upgrade: Pending {Seat assignment} Download to calendar Sat, Jan xx, 2007 - Washington, DC (IAD) to Los Angeles, CA (LAX) United 0824 Depart: IAD 08:40 AM Arrive: LAX 11:16 AM Non-stop 2,288 miles traveled Booking class: W Economy 2288 Award miles Flight: Schedule change {Same seat assignment} Download to calendar Each entry is essentially identical except for the times. How hard would it be for the first to say "original schedule" and the second to say (as they BOTH do) "schedule change"? |

So, have you called to confirm the changes? Don't the duplicative flights disappear once that's done? |

For me, it was the TPE-SFO schedule change.
One night, I see lot of segments appear on my itinerary, but a day later, everything clear up with the finalize schedule. I believe your's will go away soon :) |

indication of which is the currently "correct" one. Another question that is both on the same page and not on the same page, as it were: how can award miles and flown miles be different, by some bizarre number (such as SIN-NRT, which is "3,324 miles traveled" and "3328 Award miles") ... |
I agree with the OP on this and was just about to start a thread on exactly the same point.
The listing of the old and the revised flights without identifying which is which is a frustration that could surely be avoided. In addition, I see ABSOLUTELY NO reason why in this day and age when the airlines are trying desparately to have us NOT pohone agents that any schedule change REQUIRES a phone call to "accept". Surely a radio button "I have received and accept these schedule changes" on the website would make things MUCH simpler. Instead I am tying up agents' time reading back to me the changes I have already seen on the website when they should be helping the poor pax stranded around the country (globe) as a result of the snow in DEN. Merry Christmas all Lurker :) |

Happened to me too, and you can't even tell from My Itineraries if a segment had been cancelled (which in my case, it had), I think it just said "schedule change", also on the new flights.

Yes. I had a schedule change for flights in Feb. I called UA and verified everything and got better seat assignments. A few minutes after the call I logged on to My Itineraries and the excess flight listings were gone. Now it only shows the new flights and correct seats.

The SWU's you used to upgrade the flight will reappear in your Upgrade Summary, and your seat will still be UPGRADED! :D Best, Dave |
This very same thing happened to me- when I called to confirm the changes, CS agent explained that system would update (although I think she had to remove them manually....?) when I logged back in. The extras were gone when I logged back in.

I also had a schedule change with very minor impact (departure times: int'l leg now departs 35 minutes later & domestic: 3 minute earlier) on two segments in an upcoming March trip.
I was online viewing my "schedule change" itinerary when I called. Right afterwards, when I reloaded the page, the My Itineraries page showed in the Status column "confirmed," just like the rest of my PNRs. Clicking on that PNR, I saw that the old segments were removed. Same here. Original flights were listed ahead of the newest flights. This was part of my my itinerary before I called: United 882 Depart: TPE 11:00 AM Arrive: NRT 02:55 PM Non-Stop 1,356 miles traveled Fare basis code: [same] Booking class: [same] Economy 1356 Award miles Flight: Schedule Change Seat: [same] ======== United 882 Depart: TPE 11:35 AM Arrive: NRT 03:30 PM Non-Stop 1,356 miles traveled Fare basis code: [same] Booking class: [same] Economy 1356 Award miles Flight: Schedule Change Seat: [same] |
