NYC ExPlus?!?!

Am I reading the new schedule incorrectly or are we getting a handful of MESA-OPERATED ExPlus flights on CR7's?!?! ...?

lucky9876coins Oct 15, 2006 10:53 am

Yup. I flew a LGA-IAD ExPlus earlier this month in F, and have a JFK-IAD next month in F. Despite the short duration of the flight, they have inflight entertainment (It's a Messy thing). ;)

PanAm916 Oct 15, 2006 10:54 am

I had a flight that was scheduled as a CR2 and "not-upgradeable" LGA-IAD magically turn into a CR7 last Friday. Of course, had I known that I would have upgraded that segment... It left with 2 empty F seats and had a non-rev in another.

UA840 Oct 15, 2006 11:04 am

Quite clearly an effort by UA to build and grow its NYC pressence.

Wait, you mean that United realized that perhaps the largest city in the world's largest economy and the financial capital of, arguably, the world, generates premium cabin fares?

What day are you looking at? Is this in place of, or in addition to, the mainline 737's and A320's now on LGA-IAD? What about JFK and EWR?

New timetable has 2X CR7s, 1X 733, and 4X CRJs on LGA-IAD, with IAD-LGA being the same except the mainline flight is a 752.

Starting what day? So, it looks like UA did the bait and switch again. They were gonna do 3x mainline, and now they did 2x Ex+ and 1x mainline. This sounds like the p.s. "improvements".

I still can't believe EWR-IAD has no F. It makes no sense to me.

On the ERJ, every seat is first class (leather!)

rwill11 Oct 15, 2006 11:18 am

I think UA is getting ready for a merger with Delta or CO. If its CO we'll have to hear all the moaning about having to get to EWR :p

Yeah, just like WN files all their seats as F with the DOT.

Based on two equipment changes on a <250 mile route???

ajthegreat Oct 15, 2006 11:28 am

JFK-IAD looks like it has a morning, noonish, and 4pmish cr-7 while IAD-JFK has a midmorning, afternoon, and evening cr-7 as well...now if only they would do atleast an abbreviated beverage run...

UAalltheway Oct 15, 2006 12:53 pm

Yup, (semi-)unfourtunately Mesa is now refitting newer CR7s with explus.

Hey, it's better than Mesa withOUT explus.
