Problems with Nominating a Premier Associate to be a Premier
 

I'm going to call Mileage Plus to see if I can resolve this issue, but I thought I should let folks know an issue with the Premier nomination process on the 2006elitechoice web site.

I nominated my wife to Premier Associate back in May, and realized afterward that her 3P status would only be good through February 2007. Only nominations made after July 2006 would be good through February 2008.

Now that I've passed the 125K mile mark, I had the chance to nominate her to 2P status, but when I try to do so, the nomination application does a back-end check and comes back with the following error message:

Mileage Plus number you selected already has elite status with United. Please choose another member and try again by 10/12/2006 .

It looks like a good intention (preventing people from wasting their nominations on people who are already elite) has kept me from the outcome I desire.

I'll phone Mileage Plus and see if there is anything they can do, and will post an update later.

Mmmm... good to know, cuz I planned to do the EXACT same thing (boost/renew my wife from 3P to 2P)
