I am too

Also noted with interest the inclusion of Z fares...

...I guess in a couple of months we may see threads from UGSs looking for B-fare MRs?

Maybe, but no more BYO-B MR's.

At least—if upgrades don't clear—there'll be plenty water to go around in the back

Good on you, wimpy...

...it's too bad I'm not GS already, as I'd be within a shout given the fare mix I've flown/booked this year

It seems it's only on the "1k website" for people who already are GS members. As a lowly 1k I can't find it when I log in!

Hm, some FTers put "UA 2K" instead of "1K" in their profiles.

Nice find. I am qualified for retaining UGS in 2007 (without any flying in the past month!).

I'm wondering how my GS members that have already re-qualified will spread their business around...

The decision to announce this is very strange.

I was sure I wasn't in with a chance given my changed flying patterns.
Welcome back, wimpydoodle! ^

Is it 50,000 EQMs or BIS miles? If it's EQMs then I can do 1 or 2 JFK-SIN in Y or B and become GS.

This thread is about existing GS members renewing their status. I don't think you should assume it's the criteria for a 1K to move to GS.

This is definately for renewing and not initial invitations. I certainly flew more than 50K last year in Y or B fares and am probably there already this year. I don't expect any invitation though.

Z's have probably always counted, but the weighting probably favored Y's and B's more since they show a willingness to pay more for flexability/refundability which implies that such a customer will buy F/A/C/D when booking premium cabins.
