It sucks - last week I got a call at 5:00 am telling me that I was upgraded to first. Since I was in San Francisco (flew on UA the day before), it would be great if they can figure I was on the West Coast and they call me during normal business hours.

General agreement here. Great when it works - Mr. Easy Update has saved my butt a couple times. One time in particular stands out - I was in midtown Manhattan when a flight cancellation message came through - I was able to beat a path to LGA in time to catch an earlier flight. I like the warm feeling I get when an upgrade cleared message comes through.
On the other hand, my funniest story is about the time I was sitting home in my living room having spent several hours at the airport rebooking flights and getting home by the skin of my teeth (weather) when my phone rings and it is that blasted chipper little man telling me that "my flight has been....cancelled". A little late now, isn't it? |

I did, it is for 8:00 am |

Easy Update is OK by me
I like easy update it works for me about 95% of the time and that is really helpful. I agree that for the 5% when it doesn't work the impacts range from irritating to frustrating to down right funny. Given with what I normally deal with in traveling 95% isn't so bad. I'd be really happy if my flights were on time 95% of the time.
