How Long Does 3P Last?
 
If I gift someone 3P now, how long will it last? Through the end of 2006? Or through 2006 and 2007 as well?

And people wondered why I called it Curious 3P! :D

I seem to recall somewhere that Curious 3P status only lasts through the end of the year, but I could be mistaken. In no event would it last past the end of February though.

On the other hand, it might be that there's a sort of Curious 3P purgatory that you reside in for the rest of your life! :o

From UA website:
"Qualification period
The benefits for 2006 elite status presented here are for members who receive status during calendar year or during 2006.

Annual elite level benefits are valid from the time of nomination of each calendar year. Each elite membership card is valid through the end of February of the following year."

Way different for 3Ps, as they really didn't do anything to "qualify".

If I recall correctly, I belive if it was gifted before June or July 1 (????) 2006, it would expire Feb 2007. After whatever the cutoff date was, than Feb 2008.

2P and 3P. I'm not sure that passage from united.com is pertinent to the issue... we know that MP elite cards are valid till Feb of the next year... :confused:

Right, that's what I was wondering. I went through trying to find something addressing this, and couldn't. For that matter it's difficult finding pertinent info regarding expiration of status at any level.

Nominated Premier status for 2007 Premier benefits, and nominated Premier Associate status for 2007 Premier Associate benefits, are valid through February 2007 if nomination occurs on or before June 30, 2006; if nomination to Premier status or Premier associate status occurs between July 1, 2006 and February 15, 2007, then the respective benefits are valid through February 2008.

I can confirm from my recent experience that status gifts currently are valid through Feb 2008 ^

I nominated a friend around July 9. This is a portion of the confirming emai from MP:

"You also chose to give the gift of Premier Associate status to XXXX XXXXXX. Their benefits will begin within two weeks of the nomination date and remain valid through February 29, 2008. They will receive their elite welcome package in 4-6 weeks."

Just another data point. I nominated my partner to 3P yesterday and it stated that it would be valid through Feb 2008. Nice to see some consistency!

2 weeks to become active in the system and 4-6 weeks to receive the welcome kit.
