The calculator page is appalingly written - it says in small print half way down the page that the miles listed are per person per segment, but it doesn't say that anywhere near the miles figure itself.
Furthermore, one writer above gave 40,000 miles for SYD-LHR, another 70,000 and yet I see on the calculator 30,000 (per segment).
I wonder what chance there is that you could request one of these upgrades and have it actually cost the same miles as the calculator predicted?

This is probably a sitation where you want DIRECT flights.

SQ 25 is the flight from JFK to SIN, SQ 26 is SIN-JFK. 325 is the second FRA-SIN flight.

Am I the only person who is bummed about the full fare coach thing?
Doing some quick runs it seems it is normally comparable in price to just buy the biz ticket, then a full-fare economy class.
I know that UA are doing this to win favor with the business travellers, but still dissapointing for me

any flight to AKL and then NZ2 to LHR, or
NZ7104 or NZ7118 or UA840 to LAX and then either NZ2 or UAxxx to LHR, or
UA840 to JFK and then UAxxx to LHR, or
