I am glad I got a RCC membership knowing my six-month weekend commuting flights between IAD and LGA would be delayed more often than not.

Having made my first UA MM on over 90% of flights greater than 3 hours and 75% on Transoceanic flights, I am experiencing what "true road warroors" do.... fly 100 segmenets of less than 500 EMS in one year. I have greater appreciation for those who fly short commuter routes.

Mileage Runs and fly C/F on someone elses' dimes are just not the same.... there don't come close to the mental and physical stress associated with short commuter flights.

If you make 1Ks by flying 100+ segements each year. Please identify yourself and tell us your stories. It will be a nice change from hearing those stories of MRs and international F/C travels.
Bet you're pumped that Mesa is going the way of the Dodo and Xjet is taking over...

Damned impressive. We're not worthy!

Getting there...

..was at 66 segments through the end of April. Doubt I'll keep the pace up - 198 would put an end to my marriage lickity-split!

wow - i do most of my flying on longer haul / transcon routes, so im planning on getting 1K or 1P on miles, cant imagine doing 100 EQS at 500 miles/pop - so much time in the airport!

i understand if its for work that you get 100 EQS, but if you're just trying to reach 1K on your own dime, isnt it more economical (i.e. it will cost less) to do it thru a big MR or two?

UA's got a lot of competition on the SFO-SAN route from VX and WN so there RT can price out to $80 AI and since iceman senior has a fixed schedule, he'll book out for months. You can reach 1K for $4000 that way ($80/RT * 50 RTs = $4000 for 100 segments).

Will be at 57 segments at the end of the week. Never get status through miles, as I have a lot of non-stop to PHL and ORD from AVP. Wish I made it on miles though, because segments burn you out, especially when a lot of them are on Mesa!

I'm at 51 and will likely be at 100 by the end of the year.

I'm at 58 for the year now, which includes no travel during the month of April. I capped out at a 143 BIS EQS last year and I'm probably looking at a similar number for 2008.

I'll be at 69 when I hit ORD tonight. I hit 110 segments and about 102K miles last year and will probably do about the same ratio this year. I do lots of hops between DEN and SFO/SEA with some shorter hops in between. Then I'll do a long-haul somewhere and make up the difference.

I want to hit about 150k this year and keep my fingers crossed for GS status next year.

Currently at 63 - made 1K last year with 109! Definitely not the way to go if you have a choice - in one word - "brutal"

This will be the second year in a row that I will make 1K on segments, would have been third but I split my first year traveling on NW and UA. FlyerTalk cured that problem

I qualified for 1K in 2005 and 2006 on segments. My 2007 qualification was for 1P at over 70, and I would have made 1K on segs had I not started crediting to BD. As BlissWorld said, weekly LAX-SFO makes 1K on segs very reachable, and I'm the proof.

This is the first year that I will not make status on segs - AC's comped EQM from the MEX C fares will get me to 1P with 2 EQS

404 flights last year.

Won't be as much this year though - passed 100 flights mid April.
