TACA - A *A Partner????
 

I was looking at the MP website and it states that Shanghai Airlines will be a *A soon. That's looks fine.

Then I look a little further and it says, TACA *Coming Soon under the Star Alliance column.

Is this a mistake or is it true?

This is good news. I wonder if this is in response to Varig's troubles.

This came up back in February (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...ighlight=taca). My limited experience with Taca was good, but it was just a puddle jumper between SAP and RTB.

I understand that Taca is also known as Take A Chance Airline. :)

They don't call it United.bomb for a reason!

Seriously, this is great news. I have a trip to BZE in a few weeks and I've been holding off on purchasing the tickets because its been reported they were going to become a code share partner but a *A partner is even better.

Any rumors as to whether BWIA might be invited to join *A? I would love to get EQMs for some of the vacation trips out of IAD ..
