Meal Service in NON-P.S. 3 Class Domestic F
I have an upcoming trip that will involve a mid-con flight on a three class of service plane.
Two questions: First, generally speaking, is there a difference between what is served in C versus F on a domestic midcon (or a non-p.s. transcon for that matter) on a 3 class plane? It's been a while since I've flown on a 3 class plane domestically. The last time was on a 767 and I was in F and didn't bother to see if C was getting different meal service. The last time I flew C on a 3 class plane domestically was years ago and, even then, I didn't see if F was getting something better than C. Second, notwithstanding the answer to my first question, what will the breakfast meal on this F 3 class mid-con consist of? Do they still have hot egg dishes (not the egg sandwich) on midcons? The last mid-con breakfast flight that I flew (I generally find myself on more midcon lunch flights) still had a choice between hot eggs or fruit. Thanks in advance for any information. |
Check out the Let's Eat First Class thread for more info. My experience is that F is different food from C. C often does not have a choice of meals on the shorter 3 class routes (DEN-ORD, DEN-SFO, etc.).

This excellent thread started by BenjaminNYC speaks directly to the OP's topic.

While I appreciate the responses, I'm not sure that either is directly responsive to my specific inquiries. The previous thread discussed that there was no difference in quality or presentation between 2-class F meal service and 3-class F meal service on domestic flights. This is an excellent point, however, it does not address the contrast between meal service in "C" and "F" on a non-p.s. 3 class domestic route; rather, it compares 2-class "F" to 3-class "F". As to the Let's Eat thread, it would just be a bit cumbersome for me to attempt to divine which of the referenced mid-cons may have been on a 3-class in "F" versus a 2-class. I was just hoping someone would know the answer off the top of their head.

It's been my experience that 3-class F and C get the same food; if it's a dinner service, C will get cheesecake while F will get sundaes.
In F, you'll be served from long-stem wine glasses versus the enlarged shotglass C wine glasses. Traytable linens will be gold instead of white or blue. |
And to add to UNITED959, at least on the flights with SEA-based crews, they bring out the salad seperately in a bowl and not trayed with the appetizer.
