Got nuts?

All of the mainline West Coast hops I do a year in mileage runs in First got me thinking. Most of these flights are around an hour, and offer just prepackaged snack mix. While this is understandable due to the short duration of the flight, it would seem nice if they offered something a little bit more "distinguishing."

So, in my absolutely love for hot nuts, I started to wonder why UA could not offer hot nuts on these flights in a ramekin. While it is nothing significant, it seems to me as if it would distinguish UA from the competition. Would it not be possible for UA to offer this on all of their non-meal, non sh*ttle flights?

Thoughts? :p

Why just the non-SH*T flights? I'll take cold nuts in a ramekin over the "gourmet mix" aboard the oven-less 735s anyday!

Was waiting for a nut thread to pop up, has been a while. I would welcome hot nuts as well as I go a few times a month up and down the west coast.

I didn't like the hot nuts given to me on my BOS-DEN flight last week in F. :td:

Anything to replace the garbage they serve labeled snack mix. I'll even take cold nuts

Where's wimpy anyhow? This is a nut thread.

You called?

I'm in TLV with no baggage. However, there were VERY warm nuts on IAD-FRA on Saturday ^

Oh and I spotted the new see through curtain between Y and C on that flight. Looks and feels more like a fly screen. I guess it saves having to try and swat the Y pax as the enter the C cabin :D

Y-Pax swatters... What an awesome idea! Why aren't they in the FT store?

My concern, of course, is that they take menus off of flights, which I just can't imagine cost all that much. Anyone have an idea how much one of those Hawaii/Transcon menus cost? Given that they take those off, I fear that my dreams of nuts will never come true. :(

This probably has to do with peanut allergies and the dust generated from serving peanuts. I don't think the United mixed nuts containers ever had peanuts in them. Even the purple Fiesta Mix (?) has soy nuts in it instead of peanuts.

LH often serves mini bags of cashews in C--I find those far more appealing than the gold bags.
