Realistically, what kinds of food would like to see at domestic RCCs?

I'd love to be able to have sandwiches, salads etc - even if you have to buy them. One of the disadvantages is that you can't bring food into the club, which makes them off limits if you are making a connection between two non-food flights.

If they would do free stuff, a pot of soup or noodles would be good.

Of course, a HUGE bowl of warm nuts (especially cashews) would go down well

Anything reasonably substantial and without a ton of fat. I'd also be willing to pay a small fee for something decent. Maybe they could offer them at the bar where they are already dealing with small dollar transactions.

The current yogurt and veggies are nice, but they’re only out for limited periods. The more widely available cookies, chips, and crackers don’t do much for me. And yes, I know this sounds horribly boring…

I was thinking maybe something like what they have at Marriott Concierge Lounges.

Oatmeal
Yogurt
Croissants
Toasts
Cut up Fruit
Yogurt
Cereal

Lunch
Cold Cuts
Cheeses
Cut up Fruit
Breads
Desserts

Dinner
Uhmm not sure.

Second the above. And nothing wrong with "dinner" having the same menu as "lunch" (keep things simple but tasty and attractive).
And the service piece for hot oatmeal in the morning works great for holding hot soup throughout the day.

I'll third the above, as long as it includes sugar-free yogurt.

I also agree with that. The CO lounge has for breakfast bagels, muffins, english muffins, jams, etc. Would be nice to see RCC to have something similar.

Even better would be to have plain yogurt and some granola or dried fruit.

I have an RCC membership for the first time this year, and while I like being able to get coffee, I really wish they had something a little more substantial sometimes.

Also it would be nice to have bottled water, instead of just having tap water and sparkling water in a can.

I'm just coming over from the LH forum and have already heard some bad comments about RCC (not only on the forums but also at the airport etc.). Actually, I've never been in a RCC, so like to get some information what to expect. At least something to drink for free? (I heard that alcohol is for charge) What about snacks? (peanuts)

Anyone still remember the beverage and food offering at Miami's RCC? IIRC, that was the ony RCC in the US system offer food. I rememeber speaking to the UA-MIA station manager that MIA was picked as an experiment pre-2001.

The beverage offering was similar to HKG and NRT - open bar.

Food:

Breakfast: similar to domestic F at the time. fresh fruit, good pastries (muffins, danish, etc.). A toaster was available. - also similar to the continental breakfast offered at some of the hotel chains.

Lunch: sanwiches and cold cuts - similar to the pre-2001 mid-flight deli offering on many of the transcon flights. Good cheese, shrimp cocktail, smoke salmon, roast beef, etc. Also sandwiches, fresh fruit. There might be soup, but I am too sure.

Dinner: I was never at the MIA RCC in the evening to provide any comments.

At this moment, I'd settle for similiar offerings as the AC ML lounge at YYZ's UA terminal. Wine, beer machine, soup, deli platter, warm cookies, etc.

While the above would be nice, I doubt it will happen. What I don't get is, why don't they provide salads or sandwiches which are half decent for purchase? I think they could make extra money this way, and it would go over well.

If they provided free food, anything like the HKG RCC would be great! ^

We already paid for the RCC membership - how much more do they need?
I think flying on Ted so much has conditioned you to pay for stuff you should be getting anyway.
