"Ticket Number"

I have to provide my ticket number for a reservation to claim my miles for a previous flight.

Looking at the itinarary i have the following ref: DCUA*K8M296 / E is this a ticket number, or is there a particular format it should take ie. 8 digits etc?

Ticket number is a 13-digit number starting with "016" on the bottom of your ticket, under "document number". K8M296 is your record locator or reservation number.

You need the actual BP, paper ticket, e-ticket confirmation or e-receipt to get the ticket number.

Or you can also look it up on your credit card statement. It usually posts on the description along with the amount of the charge.

And it should also be on the confirmation and e-receipt you receive via email from United.

What he said.

If you can't find your ticket number anywhere, then look at your CC statement. It should show it under the charge for that ticket, even if it was an award ticket.

Each carrier has their own prefix, followed by a ten digit number (called “Document Number” on the bottom section of the Passenger Receipt). For example, UA ticket numbers typically start with 016, following by a second string of numbers.

Other prefixes:

Delta 006
American 001
US Airways 037
America West 401
Southwest 526

The ticket number should also be at the bottom of your boarding pass stub.
