Better yet, UA should do away with nuts and save the money. :p

I love my airline; but on my terms. :o

One one do insure that this happens is to simply bring your own nuts. I never leave home without mine....

This same person probably knows that no one will complain if those same nuts are slammed down cold on the tray or if the coffee cup is cold. It is one indication that someone cares about customer service, and I for one appreciate it. Hence, my fixation on the temperature of said nuts.

Now, can we talk about my pet peeve, cookies that are heated and then served with the rest of the meal, meaning they'll be cold again before you get to them?

You raised two excellent points. (1) - the attention to detail of service above and beyond the nuts themselves; and (2) - your cookie issue is also a pet peeve of mine, but no, we can't talk about them here. Start your own **** thread :D :p

(Not bad for a 400th post, either)

Technically, I think this is really a difference between bivariate (discrete) and continuous variables. The Chi-Square or difference of proportions tests were used here to compute a statistically significant difference in prevalence of nut postings between the AA and UA forums (really the only way the analysis can be done). It does beg the question though...is the result "clinically" significant?

What a nutty thread!

That is a great question, and of course clinically the optimal temperautre for your nuts is slightly below body temperature :D

Only if you wish to reproduce - which in the case of many posters here might not be a wise idea. :D

Nuts on United are a bit like Max Bloom's "security blanket."

"Ok. Where are my nuts? It's been too long. Where are they? They should have served them by now. I want my nuts! Uhh, uhhh. Oh! There they are! Goodie, goodie! Say look mister..here come our nuts! Mine, mine. Aaaaaah. Thank You. My nuts. Yes. Oh...wait a minute. These are cold! These nuts are cold! Miss! Miss! Come back here! These nuts are cold! Touch them. Feel them. They're cold! I want warm nuts. You're supposed to give me warm nuts! I want my warm nuts! I want them NOW! Waaaaaaa! Waaaaaaaaaaaa!"

Personally...I'd forgo the nuts if they brought me back my Beluga Caviar.

:)

I just wish they'd be consistent with the nuts. On a turnaround ORD/BWI fllying in --> nuts; flying out --> no nuts, not even the better foil packet, it was the crummy bag of Y pretzels!

PremEx - your post made me laugh out loud. Co-workers are wondering what is it at work that could be so humorous.

Another thread to be nominated for TalkMail?
