Is Business 1 continuing?

I've seen some PR about "Business 1" expanding to more destinations, but the old scheme expired on 12/31/05. Part of the Business One deal - the 500 miles for late arrival - required that one register. Anyone know what's going on? Do we need to reregister? I can't find anything on united.bomb (no big surprise).

Knowing that my last two flights of 2005 from DCA-ORD arrived in the C terminal, I doubt they will continue hyping up Business 1. Earlier in the year I was registered for the promo and after having several of my DCA-ORD and ORD-DCA flights cancelled I still had to e-mail MP to get the bonus miles, so it seems like registering is even futile.

Looks like it's been extended to 12/31/06.

Priority use of the B Concourse at ORD was always only for departing flights from ORD, not for arriving flights. You can imagine that for logistical reasons, there is no way to really ensure that Business1 flights arrive at the B concourse because the planes likely continue to operate non-Business1 routes as the day progresses.

Thanks - just registered from the link on the page cited, and I got the standard "thank you for registering" even though I had registered last year. Since it doesn't hurt, I would encourage everyone to reregister just to be sure.

Thanks for the link. It's nice to know they are at least still attempting to do this, even if I do have to follow-up to get the miles credited.

I'm not sure the system remembers who has registered and who has not, so you may never get the "you've already registered" message.

Thanks for the link. I just reregistered.

I received bonus miles (without asking) multiple times last year for my ORD-LGA flights which are late more often than not. I have not had any flights canceled so that is probably a different story. It looks like their are a lot of restrictions on the Business 1 guarantee for canceled flights.

Right - there is no claim process involved provided that you pre-register once only.

Just got the e-mail

Dear Milepig,

Again this year, United Business1® offers our passengers the most convenient departure gates possible and an exclusive arrival-time guarantee — you'll earn miles if a United® flight arrives 30 minutes or more after the scheduled arrival time.

United's Business1 service is available from Chicago O'Hare to the following popular, business destinations:

Boston Logan
Dallas/Fort Worth
Minneapolis/St. Paul
New York LaGuardia
Newark
Philadelphia
Washington D.C. Reagan

Guaranteed arrival times
You need to get where you're going on time. That's why Business1 arrival times are guaranteed. If a flight arrives 30 minutes or more after the scheduled arrival time, regardless of the reason, you'll earn 500 redeemable miles.

Registration is required
If you registered in 2005 there is no need to re-register for 2006. Your prior registration is good through December 31, 2006. Not registered yet? Visit united.com/business1.

Convenient gates
Now finding your gate at the airport should be a breeze. Business1 flights will depart from our most preferred gates. From Chicago O'Hare, you'll depart from Terminal 1, Concourse B.

Complimentary newspapers and meals
Enjoy complimentary newspapers on flights departing at or before 10:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. In addition, complimentary meals will be served in United First during meal times on all Business1 flights, except on Minneapolis/St. Paul flights.

Business1 service is only available on flights between Chicago O'Hare and the select destinations listed above. To book your flight, visit united.com.

We look forward to seeing you onboard.

I do not believe this is targetted.

I too got the email today.

So what's the big deal of this Biz1? A measly 500 miles if the flight is late?

I would suggest reading the actual webpage... should answer a lot of your questions.
