MP Visa 25,000 RDMs + "up to 15K EQM" offer -- still valid in '06?

I'd been planning to apply for this offer because I'm concerned that I may need the extra EQMs this year. Was planning to wait until January 1 to apply just to be certain that the EQms post for '06 and not '05, but--stupid me--I just came across an old post that says this offer was to expire on 12/31/05.

The link still appears to be valid (with EQMs still listed as a benefit) and I submitted an application earlier today but now I'm a little paranoid that it won't go through. I'm assuming if the link is still valid they should still have to honor the offer, correct?

Also, I'm not seeing an expiration date anywhere on this page, but am I missing something? For those who were assuming a 12/31 expiration, where did you see this info? thx

If the form's there, you should be good to go. If they balk, cancel the card. There is no downside for you.

I did the same thing myself. Got the card a couple of weeks ago but didn't activate and use it until today to make sure that the EQMs post for 2006. Don't see any language that indicates that the 25K RDMs and EQM offer are time-specific.

I almost applied for that card, but SHEESH, have you looked at the interest rates? Don't dare carry a balance on that one!

Anyone applied for this lately? The link provided by the OP still works but don't know if the offer is still vaild. Am thinking about going for it but unclear about any change in terms and conditions. Thanks

I applied and got the card just over a month ago. My statement closed last week, and both the 25K RDM and the 5K EQM posted this week.

If you want to carry a balance, you shouldn't carry a credit card.

Yes, a home equity loan is a much better way to finance any debt of consequence than a credit card, both because of the much more favorable interest rates and different tax treatment of interest expenses.

If I'm not mistaken, the 25K is for the Platinum Visa CC ($140 annual fee). If you aren't 1K and cannot get the fee waived, the first year annual-fee waived UA Visa (with 20K RDMs) is a better deal IMHO.
