Ticket to the world - extension in time period for redemption?
 

I apologize, but the search feature keeps timing out on me.

A friend of mine has earned the free ticket anywhere UA flies but cannot use the ticket in the period alloted. I vaguely recall reading here that UA was going to extend the time b/c people were having so much trouble getting seats. Can anyone point me towards a thread or give me the details if I am remembering that right?

I believe the expiration of the "Go Around The World" promo (from flying from DC area airports) was extended. I also believe the similarly named "Ticket to the world" promo (from flying full-fare int'l F or C) was not extended.
