Cabin baggage weight allowed
Can't find this on United website or searching the forums. The website only mentions overall dimensions but not weight.
Would there be any difference between allowance on international and domestic F? |
UA generally doesn't care, but other *A carriers are very strict about the limit. I think it's something like 7 kg.

If there is a weight limit for cabin luggage, then it is total.

Actually, the only time I've ever been informed about a cabin baggage allowance was within Australia on DJ and QF. I'm not sure if UA enforces it or not.
In the case of DJ, the limit is 7kg per item - not total. Their reasoning being if an individual piece of baggage were to fall from the overhead, anything greater than 7kg could cause serious injury. They had no problem with me dividing the stuff into multiple bags - as long as no individual piece exceeded 7kg. |
Here is the info on LH site

On UA, SQ, EK, MH and Virgin Blue they have never weighed my carry ons...thank goodness. My backpack is 10-14kg, never an issue. I have avoided LH so far.....

UA & SQ are Generous in Carry-On Baggage allowance.
SQ only puts some restrictions out of Australia. |

I've never been questioned on weight otherwise. |
Not sure

I flew UA, AA, LH, SQ, and MH last year and this was the one and only time an airline weighed my laptop bag. Maybe I was tilted over to one side from the weight of the bag ;) |
