Changing VDB tickets

I received a VDB lower-48 ticket in about February of '05 that I was unable to use because of a death in my family. I then changed it to a different ITN at a cost of $100. It's now PDX-CLT-PDX and was made and therefore dated 6/05.
1) When does it expire? Feb 06 or June 06

2) If I have to change dates but not ITN do I have to pay

3) If I need to change date AND ITN do I pay ANOTHER $100?

You could change ITN, but you'd likely be arrested and charged with a felony for hacking! ;)

As for changing itin (or date), I believe you would have to pay another $100.

I meant changing the cities I was flying to/from as opposed to "just" changing travel dates....again.
Getting a felony would be a very bad thing.

You can change dates on a VDB ticket without a fee as long as you do not change routing, including connection cities, if any.

Thanks for the info but when does it expire? The date I originally booked it to LAX (back in Feb) or when it was resissued for CLT in June?

I always use the issue date of the original ticket to make sure it is 100% valid since the new re-issued ticket should also have the old ticket number you exchanged listed.

A smart CSR can then cross reference the old ticket issue date and foil your plans to re-extend the validity of your VDB for another 12 months.

I have a ticket as follows:

FLL/IAD/MSY Jan 13/06
MSY/IAD/FLL Jan 16/06

Given the circumstances I would like to 'drop' the MSY portion and just stay in DC for the weekend.

At present, United has announced no charges for changes through to Jan 5/06.

Do you think I could call now and have the MSY portion dropped for no charge. So, I can re-book hotel/car, etc?

- I am on a VDB ticket?

I think it's worth a call into UA due to the circumstances.

but don't get your hopes up, the advisory on UAL.COM doesn't cover January 06 tickets just yet.
