Does having status make a difference on award availability?

IF you have no status and call the reservation helpdesk and there is no availabilty would it make a difference if i was a 1k or higher ?

Yes...

AFAIK, there is a separate quota for Saver Economy awards for 1k and higher, so I guess it would make a difference. I have no clue how many seats they set aside in this inventory, though.

1k and GS have a special cont. on saver awards in economy with UA metal only
JR

Maybe... only for domestic awards. There is a 'special 1K inventory' (booking class NY) which may be available.

The awards desk can also ask IM to release some award inventory, but don't count on IM doing it.

I will be IK in a couple of months. Do you if those saver Y seats show up when you "award seach" on united.com?

Saver inventory

I never knew that there was a separate inventory and I have been 1K for a long time.

I have benefited from reaching agents that "know someone" in IM.
