5% off e-certificate when booked on United.com
Made a purchase on united.com this morning, and there's an option at the end to specify an email address for which they will send you an e-certificate for 5% off for next purchase. So if you are planning several trips, it would be best to buy the cheaper trip first, and apply the 5% off towards the more expensive trip. The terms are as follows :
============================================ Thank you for choosing United and being a valued Mileage Plus member. Here is your e-Certificate for 5% off your next qualifying roundtrip flight purchased at united.com. Don't forget, you can continue to earn additional 5% off e-Certificates for every flight you purchase at united.com through September 1, 2005. How to redeem: Redeeming your e-Certificate is fast and easy. Simply follow the steps below: Go to http://www.united.com/bookonline. Enter your origin and destination information. Select "Search by schedule". Select your travel dates and enter your e-Certificate number from the white box in the top of this email. All flights that are e-Certificate eligible will be identified with a green star symbol. Select your flights and your discount will be automatically calculated. All selected flights must be e-Certificate eligible to receive the discount. Choose your seat and purchase your flight. January 31, 2006 June 30, 2006 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Discount Amount: 5% off a paid qualifying roundtrip flight purchased at united.com. Ticketing period: July 27, 2005 through January 31, 2006 Travel period: July 27, 2005 through June 30, 2006 Valid Carrier: This discount may be applied to United, United Express® and Tedsm operated flights, but not to flights operated by other airlines (such as United-marketed code share and Star Alliance flights). Valid Routing: To take advantage of this discount you must travel within the domestic 50 United States during the above travel period. Qualifying Fares: This discount may be used on published United First® (F, A), United Business® (C, D, Z) or United Economy® class (Y,E,B,M,U,H,Q,V, W, S or T) for qualifying travel within the 50 United States. Restricted Fares: This discount may not be used on the following fare types: Internet-only fares, companion, travel industry G class, contract, bulk, convention, tour conductor, children, family plan, government, group, military, senior citizen, student, youth, infant, tour basing, Round the World, Circle the Pacific, Visit USA, or any non-published fares. Fare Rules: The published fare you qualify for depends on what class of service is available on the days you travel. Some markets may have lower fares available without the discount. You must travel roundtrip or one-way on United. Open jaw and circle trips are also allowed. Maximum number of passengers per itinerary: Nine Blackout Dates: None. Ticketing: You may redeem this electronic certificate on united.com only. Discount only applies when ticket is purchased on united.com using the certificate number and a credit card that has a valid U.S. billing address. Electronic certificates cannot be redeemed by calling United Airlines or your travel professional. Fulfillment: Electronic certificates will only be delivered to a valid e-mail address. Electronic Certificate is valid towards qualifying flight purchase at united.com between 12:01 am CST July 27, 2005 through 11:59 pm CDT January 31, 2006 only, for travel through June 30, 2006. Mileage Plus Accrual: The passenger may accrue Mileage Plus miles with this discount. Upgrades: To determine if an upgrade certificate may be used together with this discount, refer to the terms and conditions and booking class restrictions associated with each upgrade. Changes/Refunds: The rules of the United fare you purchase will determine what changes or refunds are allowed. Any refund due is based on the amount actually paid. The electronic certificate discount may not be reapplied toward the purchase of another ticket when exchanging or refunding your original ticket, except when the original ticket qualifies for a reduced fare (guaranteed airfare rule applies). Check with United. Important Notes: Not all flights are eligible for an electronic certificate discount. In some instances you may find flights that are not electronic certificate eligible, because they have already been discounted and are less expensive than the electronic certificate eligible flights. This discount may only be applied toward the purchase of one new ticket and may not be applied to previously ticketed reservations. This e-certificate is transferable, but void if sold or bartered. Electronic certificates will not be replaced for any reason. Offer subject to change without notice. Other restrictions may apply. |
I got the same offer when I booked a trip yesterday. I just hope it is easier to use/apply than some of the other certs I've received in the past. I'll find out next week when I'm booking another transcon. ;)
