Does United ever reply to Online emails?

I sent two email to United regarding a customer service experience in First Class internationally. I got a confirmation that it was received but still, nearly two weeks after the 1st email and 5 days after the second, I still haven't received a response.

Any perspective?

Which e-mail address did you send it to?

When emailing about frequent flyer program issues, I've had recent response times as follows:

US Air: 4 emails sent. Response time ranged from 4 to 8 days.

United: 3 emails sent. Response time ranged from 0 to 1 days.

Lufthansa: 1 email sent. About 50 days, and still no response.

I had a truly horrendous experience in early February of this year. I wrote a letter to CS online and it took about 5 to 6 weeks for a response. The letter was nice, but somewhat canned, and they sent me a $100 voucher for my troubles. My experience w/United CS and MP online is that things usually take a long time (i.e. I made 2P 2/15 & didn't get my packet until 4/11, made 1P on 4/4 and have yet to get that packet, etc.). From what i've read from other posters, they seem to have more expedient service. I'm guessing that because this is my first year of status on UA, it's taking me a little longer to get into the "system" or something. I'm sure the other members here with more UA experience could give you a better perspective though.

I've always gotten a response back within a 1-3 days.

I will give UA credit for their responses. It varies but I've always felt they have responded in a timely fashion. I suspect with e-mails, we have a tendency to expect a quicker response than to a snail mail letter.

I have never received any sort of response.

Penguinmoon May 18, 2005 10:29 pm

I have only had to email UA twice; both times had responses within 2 days.

Both UA and MP responses received in 0-2days. IME they are very responsive to email.

Very Quick

Unless my email to M+ is extremely complex it is usually handled within 24 hours and If I reply during business hours I get a responce by the end of the business day. If only some creditcard companies could do the same.

Very, very similar here.
In 8 years, sent UA 38 inquiries, suggestions, and comments - got 42
personal responses (I keep all my email traffic ever). 3 were actually
forwarded to further people who did email me personally. Not a single
miss in all those years.

On QF and NZ: 2 emails and 3 letters respectively, never a single reaction.

LH: answered about 20 of my 24 email requests but with standaridized forms
in most cases, About 7 of those replies do contain wording of a person to
my topic.

The patter makes it look that they do respond to their frequent flyers more
consistently. But I also think that UA's CS is very advanced.

In general, the mroe simple questions submitted via the form on United.com seem to get answers in a day or less for me, whereas the more complicated ones take 1-2 days. I've never failed to get a response, though.

E-mails sent to [email protected] (or the appropriate elite-level e-mail addy) seem to take about 2 days for me to get a response.

I emailed UA on 7th May and have (compared to some of you guys) been lucky enough to receive two replies within 6 days.

Unfortunately, both (???) were just to inform me that the email was being forwarded to another department for review and handling. :td:

Maybe one day, once every department has received a copy of the email, I shall be lucky enough to receive a real response!

I've gotten responses pretty quickly and have actually on several occasions have actually received phone calls from Executive Services about both complaints and compliments. Overall I've been very happy with the online customer service and it seems to avoid dealing with the "South of the Border" office in some cases.

gfowler-ord-1k May 20, 2005 6:01 pm

Most of my replies have been within one business day. In the past emails from the autoreply to my emails to the 1K email address have stated.

...We have received your request and will be responding to you within 24 hours...
But now it is stating

...We are committed to responding to emails sent to [the 1K email address] in 2-3 business days. E-mails are answered in the order in which they are received, and due to current volumes our response time is greater than normal...
