Exclamation No UA awards in business on two-class SQ

I had reserved an SQ Business award on a two-seat plane, using UA miles. After I made the reservation, I stayed on the phone with the 1K desk for some other reservations, and the agent suddenly noticed that the SQ Business award isn't going to work.

Apparently, even if SQ Business award availability on a two-class SQ plane shows up on the UA agent's screen, you cannot use UA miles for it. There was a memo sent from SQ to UA about this recently.

Heads up, check your reservations, etc.

I know there was talk that on 2-class SQ aircraft, to get a premium cabin award, it would cost you the same mileage as First on a 3-class plane.

There were exceptions to this rule.. and they have been discussed to great lengths. Better off using the Search function.

Izzik, you are right. The UA agent told me this was a new rule, and I didn't see anything recent in the UA forum, so I posted without searching. Sorry about that. Moderator, feel free to lock or delete thread.

A two seat plane!? Doesn't surprise me that it isn't a three-class plane...

I just ticketed one of these a couple of weeks ago, no problemo. It is booked in O class, however, which is the first class code, right?

What mileage/award level were you charged?

should only be a C award.. since the EWR-SIN flight is one of the 2-class exceptions.
