Great Offer: Anyone qualified for incremental bonus with lower than V segments?
In the 2004 Great Offer you could fly the qualifying segments in any class, but then the segments that earned the bonus EQM's had to be in V or higher. There was some talk as to whether the rule applied this year.
I'm wondering if anyone has had the chance to test this, by equalling their target number of segments to start earning bonuses, but with the qualifying segments in fare-codes lower then V? And if you have, have you had bonuses post for incremental segments.....
Thanks in advance for any news!!!

I have flown 4 segements that were in booking classes that were outlined in the Great Offer mailing (V Class).
I have also flown 9 segements in booking classes that don't qualify (T and W).
NONE of the bonuses have posted.
Maybe they are waiting until July 15th (end of the offer period)?

Every time I call MP, the agents tell me that ALL segments must be booked in V or higher.
I finally realized I don't need the 20,000 EQMs. Remain calm - It's because I should make 1P easily this year in the Fall, and I don't need to be a 1K (I have plenty of miles and access to int'l upgrades to through 2006).
To be honest, I didn't feel much of a difference as a 1K last year, and haven't felt the difference since returning to 1P, either (I could have done the double EQM last Fall to retain 1K but decided not to).

I called before flying and the agent initally told me that only the segments earning a bonus had be in V+, but I was put on hold while she checked with a service director. After checking with the SD, she came back to tell me that all segments had to be in V+.
However, after registration, the opposite was true. I qualified for my threshold using a mixture of W- and V+ segments, and right after the threshold, V+ segments start posting the bonus RDM/EQM.

My experience suggests that the segments leading up to the incremental segments can be in any class.
I have gotten bonuses for all of my V+ segments after having matched the number from last year with flights booked in S/W. This is despite the fact that I was told multiple times by MP reps that all of the segments -- both incremental and matching -- had to be in V+.
So, unless they are applying different rules for different people, it must be only the incremental segments that must be V+. (And thus, the rules are the same as the '03 Great Offer.)

Anyone else with success stories?? My experience with previous promos was that CSRs and TAs don't necessarily have the same info that those who program UA's computers do!!
For example I have printout from a ticketing agent claiming that tickets eligible for the fly3 fly free promo needed to be $250 or more INCLUDING taxes and fees. Although it's in writing, and it's obviously what TAs said at checkin and over the phone, it's not what computers did.
I need to book travel today and this would make the $$ difference....between S and V!!
Thanks

Hi all.
Ok, so the Great Offer mailing told me that I flew 3 segments from 4/16/04 to 7/15/04.
The 3 segements were two on TG (both in H class) and one on UX (in V class).
So, if during 4/16/05 to 7/15/05 if I fly
4 Segments = 2000 bonus EQM
5 Segements = 4000 bonus EQM
6 Segements = 6000 bonus EQM
7 Segements = 8000 bonus EQM
13 Segements = 20000 bonus EQM
During the period of 4/16/05 to 7/15/05 I flew:
4/22 UA S class
4/22 UA S class
4/23 UA S class
4/23 UA S class
5/5 UX T class
5/5 UA T class
5/5 UA T class
5/7 UA W class
5/7 UA W class
5/7 UA W class
5/8 UX V class
5/8 UA V class
5/8 UX V class
5/9 UX W class
5/9 UA W class
5/9 UX W class
NONE of the segement bonuses have posted.
However, I faxed in one statement and I was just recently issued the 2000 bonus miles for that.

It was only a week ago though, so maybe it'll post a bit later? At least that's the way I understand it works. I presume that you registered before Apr 22?

They actually showed up as:
8-May-05 UX XXXX V Class XXX to XXX 500 2,125 2,625
8-May-05 UA XXXX V Class XXX to XXX 500 2,125 2,625
8-May-05 UX XXXX V Class XXX to XXX 500 2,125 2,625
As you can see the 2,000 mile bonus showed. I checked my spreadsheet vs. the EQM total, and each of these 2000 miles counted towards EQM's.
Could someone explain to me how this works? I'm scared cuz this looks totally messed up.
I called MP, and the nice lady over the phone explained it like this:
For each segment 1 to 4, I will earn 2000 EQM's.
For the 5th segement, I will earn 4000 EQM's.
For the 6th segement, I will earn 6000 EQM's.
For the 7 - 12 segement, I will earn 8000 EQM's.
For each of the 13+ segements, I will earn 20,000 EQM's.
This seems too good to be true. ???
I mean based on the explanation of the MP lady, I can earn 18,000 EQM's if I fly 6 segements!
