does flight 830 stop in NGO or not?

I'm flying TPE-SFO on 830 in June and when I bought the ticket there was nothing about a NGO stop, but now it seems that the TPE-SFO flights stop in NGO. When I try to buy a fake itinerary it says "non-stop" but when I do flight status for, say, yesterday, it shows a stop in NGO.

What gives?

UA830:TPE-NGO-SFO

Currently UA doesn't have non-stop flight between the U.S. and Taiwan.

Why is it when I do a search for flights in june it shows TPE-SFO "non-stop"?

Wow, must be a bug.

TPE is extended from the NGO trip, not NGO stop is added into the TPE trip. Too bad you did not see the word "one stop" or you just read that as "non stop".

Wrong.

Do a one-way search on June 4 TPE to SFO:

1238.62 USD per person
Leg Flight info Date Depart Arrive Stops
1 United Airlines 830 Jun 4 9:30 am TPE 9:25 am SFO Non-stop

I didn't mis-read anything.

One clue that this isn't a non-stop is the elapsed flight time TPE-SFO, which is 14 hours, 55 minutes, far longer than a non-stop, eastbound flight would take. For example, HKG-SFO (UA862) is scheduled as only 12 hours, 10 minutes, and I beleve it's a little bit farther to Hong Kong than it is (was) on a non-stop to Taipei from San Francisco. BTW, United EasySchedule shows UA830 as two segments, TPE-NGO and NGO-SFO:

4 JUN 05 Fly TPE to SFO
=========== Multipart 2 Flight Segments
----------- Part 1: ------------------------------------
UA 830 Dep TPE 9:30 AM Arr NGO 1:20 PM Dur: 2h:50m
DepTerm:2 Equip:777 ArrTerm:I
Meals:L

----------- Part 2: ------------------------------------
UA 830 Dep NGO 3:35 PM Arr SFO 9:25 AM Dur: 9h:50m
DepTerm:I Equip:777 ArrTerm:I
Meals:LB

True. But selling the flight as "non-stop" is false advertising annd United should probably fix that bug.

gachen May 10, 2005 10:41 pm

Can not believe that! I did get what you see when I to do a one way search. It is a critical bug. If this is true, which flight I will catch on June 6th from NGO?
