Some more LHR T3 shower details, gleaned from using showers in each of the RCC, London Lounge, and SQ Silver Kris lounge within the past couple of weeks.
Summary: all three have showers, RCC and SQ's are noticably nicer than the ones in the London Lounge -- SQ's are marginally nicer than the RCC's, but for being slightly closer to the UA gates and in deferencce to United's balance sheet, I'd suggest using the RCC showers if ithey're available. Details: The showers in the London lounge (SAS and Air Canada) have very low water pressure (and a shower head fixed high up on the wall that you can't move) and don't have toilets in the shower rooms. The lounge is straight ahead as you leave the duty free area. You'll have to surrender your boarding pass to get a shower key, and the showers are upstairs. The RCC has relatively nice shower rooms with marble vanities, big fluffy towels, and a little amenity kit. The shower I used had somewhat low water pressure, but the handheld shower nozzle helped. The lounge is at pseudo-gate 12c, on the left side of the corridor with the moving walkways. The showers are near the entrance (for when you need to bathe and run). SQ's showers are marginally nicer than the ones in the RCC, but not compelling better. Water pressure is greater. They also have luggage lockers with digital combination locks. When I was there (early Sunday morning), the lounge was completely empty. The lounge is to your left as you enter the gate area from the duty free, near gate 2 and the other SAS gates. Like the RCC's, these showers are also near the entrance to the lounge. None of these compare to the LH showers in Munich, but the RCC and SQ showers are perfectly adequate. |
Bumping this thread for a similar question. I have an upcoming itinerary SFO-LHR-VIE (SFO-LHR on UA, LHR-VIE on OS) and my ticket is NC. So, from what I gather, there will not be any Arrivial Suite for me. However, I am seriously considering going to the BMI lounge in T1 to use the shower there. Since T1 and T2 are connected, I can most certainly get to the BMI lounge in T1 from T2. However, it is mentioned on this thread that one is only allowed to use the lounge from the departing terminal, which is T2 for me. So, am I out of luck on the BD lounge?
I only have 2 hours and 35 minutes between flights. So, between FCC and everything else, I probably should be a good boy and stay in the LH FTL in T2. But, I am just keeping my options open (if BD lounge is available at all) |

one more time...
I am not sure I like the answer to this question. :) If I understand correctly my IAD-LHR-CDG trip will not allow me access to the the arrivals lounge, even though I am flying NF with a 4.5 hour layover???
In reading this thread and others in the search results, it appears that some folks have been able to get access in this type of scenario. Given the duration of my stop is there any leeway on access back to T3? BTW, currently the BMI LHR-CDG depatrs from T1. |

London lounges
Hi--there may be a lounge that has showers and allows access if you show a Diners card.
Best, Mars |
I'm very confused after reading this post. So I'm just going to share my situation and ppl can tell me where to go to take a shower at LHR. :D
Arriving to LHR from SFO on UA connecting to BMI to CDG. We are flying in Y-cabin, cheapo-fare. I am 1K. We have over 3 hours to kill. Where can we shower? |

You will have access to the BMI lounge in T1 as well, but I'm not sure if they have a shower. You also mention "we" - as a *G, you can bring 1 guest into the lounge with you. Not sure how many people you're traveling with, but I've seen enforcement vary. |

That's the simplest but just make sure on deplaning that you do not go through to the transit area (where you go through security). From there, you likely cannot come back into T3 gates to the RCC. |

I'm back after doing the SFO-LHR-CDG shuffle. Was unable to get into RCC but the BD lounge worked just fine. My fiancee and I each took a shower (in our own seperate showers :p) No problem at all.
Showers are fine, a little cramped, and not very pretty. Also, no where to hang your clothes while you shower. But water was hot, towels were clean, and got no lip from the BD people |
Update Please - UA Arrivals or LH Lounge?
I'm going SFO-ORD-LHR-MUC-BOD on an award F ticket (LH portions in C, of course). I have a four hour lay-over at LHR. Understand from reading this and other posts that b/c security/immigration can't use RCC in T3. But the posts are confusing and probably need updating (read one from 2003) with new security rules.
Can I use UA Arrivals and then walk over to T2 and get back in? Any new security rules to be aware of? Much prefer UA Arrivals to LH Lounge. Thanks. |
