I have the feeling this isn't the case anymore. At FTer will tell you that when you changed status, you had to call to update your record for any flights you'd already booked. Recent posts have shown this isn't the case anymore (it happened to me when I hit 1K a month ago).

I get the feeling you might find yourself losing your E+ seating if you lost all your status.

Bah. Who on here willingly has a low-travel year?

I don't see you coming out to Beantown, baby.

I've have been at least Prem Exec for the last 5 years and its killing me knowing I won't get the double miles next year. Since I always fly the cheapest possible flights, that's been much more important to me than the upgrades.

I did lock in the 10,000 miles for the quarter with a trip to Tokyo over Thanksgiving.

I assume you're also locking in 2P with this trip as well? If not, get I'd say get that done.

This thread is about a year old, I think I did make it to 25000 miles but much to my surprise United only kicked me down to Premier Executive so I got to enjoy double miles all this year as well!

Did you get some form of the Great Offer this year due to your low 2004 mileage relative to 2003?

Correct.
You can no longer "game the system" by making reservations before your status runs out. Status should now automatically be updated for all future reservations.
