MP Visa - anything for renewing?

I know they sent me an upgrade cert and a $25 off coupon when I first signed up for the card, but I wonder if they also give you anything for renewing?

They send you a bill for the $60 annual membership fee (waived for 1K)!

They waived the fee for me, a lowly 1P. Just an easy call.

If you upgrade to the Gold Class card, you'll get 2500 miles each year upon renewal. You'll also get an $85 bill each yr instead of $60

Are you sure?

I just called them and was told the fee would not be waived unless you are 1K

When I called to cancel my card as I didn't want to pay the $60 renewal fee, they offered me the card that has no annual fee, but you only get half the mileage per dollar spent. They also gave me 1000 miles for switching. It's better than nothing, and doesn't cost me anything.

My idea was to get another card at some point for another 15,000 or 20,000 bonus miles, using a USA address.
