The first time I took the tunnel I thought it was a shortcut to Iowa. Now I know it's just the regular distance to Iowa. (Especially before Starbucks got to the C gates, and I had to go back to B)

Didn't Puff Daddy (or P. Diddy or whatever) film a video in that tunnel??

Anyone else notice the background, almost subliminal,
"keep walking" message that used to play beneath that
jangly stuff (I am sort of surprised Bill Kraft was responsible
for that, but then a job's a job)? Though it was annoying
when I first encountered it, I sort of miss it now, behold
the power of habituation.

One thing I've always wondered about is the doors in the middle of the tunnel. Are these emergency exits, and if so, do they open up to grates or something on the tarmac???

His tribute to recently gun-downed rapper Biggie Smalls "I'll Be Missing You" was filmed in it. The melody was Sting's "I'll Be Watching You".

See his video here

I think it's where the Hoffa family goes to pay their respects.

Actually, they lead to the baggage transfer area where the bags are grouped and sent to the appropriate gates. When I took the 'tour' they showed us this area. There is also a parts warehouse down there too for just about anything that mechanics would need for an aircraft(i.e. coat hangers, seatbelts, flyertalkers, etc.)
