SoCal ATC problems...

So I'm going to guess lots of you here were stuck at one airport or another Tuesday because of the radio outage in Southern California. Everyone at the airport was reasonable and patient, and that definitely made the night much easier to be on my side of the desk. Thanks to anyone who was at SFO.

At SFO, we just had a few flights return to the airport shortly after takeoff, and many other were delayed during the indefinite ground stop. We were spared receiving all the diversions that PHX or DEN seemed to be getting at least. Things finally started to leave around 9p, and the airport was quiet again by midnight.

According to one news report I read, SFO did get one diverted Virgin 747 bound for LAX from LHR but otherwise I've been unable to find out if any other flights (UA or otherwise) were diverted to SFO. Anybody know?

I can't give you specifics ('cause I don't have any), but there definitely were some UA diversions into SFO. I flew out on a red-eye and we were delayed because of late the baggage-loading. The pursar announced on the P.A. that the reason for the late loading was that the baggage handlers ended up having a lot more work than anticipated due aircraft diverted in to SFO.
