Difference between Premier Exec & 1K Status
I don't see any difference other than the 1K website. They both have the same 100% bonus on miles flown. Upgrades every 10,000 miles flown for both.

Do a search. There are a lot of differences, the biggest being systemwide upgrades and other domestic upgrades.

Also, a newer benefit has been added. As of 15 October 2004, members have to pay a $15 fee to issue an award ticket via a telephone agent. There is no fee if the award ticket is booked on the ual.com website. This fee is waived for 1K's for any award ticket issued via a telephone agent. |

Welcome aboard! Lots of threads exist discusing the differences. Give the search feature a try and you should find answers. Also, have a look at the MP Members Guide and Matthew Clement's excellent Unofficial Guide to UA Webpage. You should also consider changing your FT handle from your direct e-mail address. |
Basic difference is upgraded flights. Benefits for a 1K above a PremEx are priority on upgrade list. I almost always get upgraded from the waiting list, my wife had about 50% success or less as a PremEx.
1K gets two Region 1 certificates for each calendar quarter 10,000 miles flown on UA. These are good for advance confirmed upgrades in North and Central America UA flights so much more useful than 500 mile upgrades which can only be confirmed a few days before flight. 1K gets 6 or more systemwide upgrades for international flights. There is a significant difference in 1K benefits over PremEx benefits over mileage earning bonuses. |
