Could you consider adding a second thread about upgrades on US codeshares?

This thread focuses on upgrading US flights on UA metal, but also covers some other scenarios in greater detail the one currently in the FAQ.

Thank you.

It looks like "JSD's comprehensive guide to AA for UA 1Ks" hasn't been added yet:

Question from a Newbie

Brand new to FT, have a simple question...

I am booking multiple tickets (4) on UA and on the purchase page the website prompts me for an optional Program Code. Is this a generic MP thing
or does UA have special codes for multiple bookings?

I'm assuming this is your MP number, but I'm probably wrong.

Welcome to Flyertalk!

Btw, I know it can be a bit intimidating to post a new thread - but, I'd post a new thread on it, as everyone will see it right away and I'd bet you'll get an answer within 30 mins. On this thread most regulards kinda ignore it unless they need something on it.

Hope that helps!

There is a clickable field "More Info" right next to the Program Code field. Did you click on that to find out more? Here is what comes up when you click on it:

More Information: program code

Periodically United and united.com will assign companies or individuals with a unique Program Code for use with specific programs or promotions. If you have received a Program Code from United or united.com, please enter it here so the code is attached to your booking.

Please Note:
Program Codes do not generate fare discounts. This field is not intended for Perks Plus or Meeting Plus tour codes. Additionally, this field is not intended for electronic or paper certificate use. Electronic certificates can only be redeemed on the united.com Create Itinerary: Shop for Flights page. You will find the Electronic Certificate field above the Search button.

If you are holding a paper certificate, please contact United Reservations at 1-800-United-1 or visit a United ticket office.

Code:
United Airlines Computer Codes (things like S*PMO...etc) - Only still available on Google Cache:
Those links no longer work.

I started a new thread based on the remains of the old one (see post #21, above). I'm not sure it's been incorporated into main, though.

United.com 5% Discount No Longer Works

There have now been several threads alluding to the fact that it appears all the current UA 5% online discount links no longer work. Not sure if there are any other discounts that could be substituted?

united.com tips: increasing max flights > 20; promo & booking code search

I suggest putting the contents of this post into the "tips list" in post #1, with thanks to yogi:

This 5% off "apology" URL changes frequently.
