UAL.com defaults to different date now?

Has this been posted? I've noticed over the past couple of days that when I am trying to plan travel, and I have to go back to the first page, ual.com is defaulting to a different date (neither today's date nor my date of choice).

Perhaps it's a bug in my system. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes, I have noticed the same thing. Right now it seems as though only the departing date changes, while the returning date stays the same. When I go back, the departure date defaults to July 12.

Yup. Started a week or so ago. Annoying as hel... well, as annoying as all the rest of the nonsense we put up with on that pathetic web site.

Can you be more specific? Which page do you get to in the booking process and which page are you going back to?

LGA_UAL Jun 28, 2004 8:13 pm

It only occurs for me when I click on "More search options," login and use that "Create itinerary: Shop for flights" page. After I click search and am brought to another page, such as a listing of flights, if I think click "back," I will get July 12 as my departing date.

For some reason, when I hit the back button, the date changes to July 5. Also, when using the "multi-city" option, the date field for each segment is seven days from the previous one, and it is a pain to reset them all each time I hit "back."

Been doing the same thing for me. Also I haven't been able to get fares for upgradable flights, only the lowest $$ available.

Quit messing with my dates...

I'm very annoyed with this. Just default the date to today and let us change the dates as we need... also, keep the dates we entered when we hit the back button. I'm wondering what they will do next on the website to make it even more user unfriendly...

The website has one function that is very useful, the showing of fare buckets, does any other website do this?

The ability to email web support is back! Maybe if a lot of us report the same problem, someone will actually fix it.

C-5Crewdog Jul 4, 2004 3:56 pm

Yeah, when you build your flights, it starts the outbound 14 days out (probably because they anticipate you want those 14-day advance tickets ;) ) and the return is 7 days later.

Even worseis the multi-city page where each subsequent flight is 7 days later, so you have to change damn near all of them. And don't you DARE make changes, because it resets all the dates each and every time.

I sent a message about this problem yesterday to web support and got this message back today:

<I was able to recreate these issues on the website and am escalating
your inquiry to the appropriate department for follow up and resolution.
I apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for choosing united.com.>

Annoying!!!!

You pick a route get the price, click the back button to shop and go back to change the city or times or whatever and the dates are back to the default. Everytime I go back I forget and then say wow look at those prices and then I realize the dates are wrong and are two weeks out.

Hello Ual.com, put your improvement back to normal where it was before you messed with it!!!

Send your complaints directly to United. The web team needs to hear this from a lot of users.

Grrr...this is still broke!!!

Talk about a royal pain in the ...!!! I've been trying to book a multi-segment itinerary, and each time I go back to change cities or dates/times, I have to re-configure EVERYTHING.

I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this horrific website. Are there any resident-IT people here? Can you write a virus that attacks & dissolves all traces of this website code so UA has no choice but to write an entirely new one? ;)
