Red face Expiring United Miles

My United miles will expire in January 2005. Would appreciate any advice on non flying ways to transfer miles into Mileage Plus account to keep account active. Thanks.

Register your credit card to Idine and eat at one Idine restaurant. It couldn't be simpler.

In addition to Idine, you could make an online purchase from the Mileage Plus shopping mall.

If you shop at any of the Safeway brand supermarkets, you can enroll your Safeway club card in "grocery miles" and earn 125 miles for every $250 in purchases.

Rent a car and provide your MP number. Switch long distance carriers and then switch back. There's no excuse for letting miles expire because it's so simple to generate account activity.

buy songs at Sony Connect, buy stuff at mileage plus mall, or get your newspaper by readers miles.

Several options beyond the other mentioned methods...
1) You could always stay at a Hilton brand hotel and have UA as the "double dip" partner.
2) Another possibility is to use Amtrak or Hilton to launder miles from one program to another.
3) Buy a few miles from UA.
4) Burn a few miles on magazines.
