Upgrading on AC & MP miles

Hi,

Quick question here - if I upgrade on AC (using an AC SWU) and credit the miles to my MP account, does anyone know if the C Class bonus is awarded?

Reason I ask is that the sub-class for this is 'C', which I think is the same as discounted business class (full fare is sub-class J).

Thanks in advance

NO,Ac has a software, which identifies the class of service.
Keep in mind,UA will charge AC for the Miles it gives you for your MP Account.

Just to say that if you do the scenario described above, a friend of mine tells me that the 25% CoS bonus is awarded. This may well stem from the fact that the upgraded seats come out of the C bucket (which is also discount J Class) so the computer can't actually distinguish what's happening...

I have used AC SWU's to upgrade and credited the miles to my M&M account and always got the COS. The way to do it is, check in, hand over your cert, then just before you are to board have them change the FF number. It can also be done in the lounge, but some agents refuse to do it (if so show them the line where it says you only have to be E/SE it does not say miles have to be credited to AP)

I didn't want to risk it as they were multi-sector itineraries, and anyway because of the *A status match, I get a 25% bonus on all the transactions in the first year. The only downside is that i'll have to work hard to ensure the aeroplan miles don't become orphaned....
