What is 100K?
Does anyone know what 100K stands for?
I've seen 100K-sign at the check-in counter of Narita International Airport. I wasn't curious about that, although I haven't seen 100K-sign in other Asian airports so far. However, I saw someone's stub which had 100K for elite status recently. Now I'm questioning what that is. |

Its for those of us flying at least 100,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (EQMs) or 100 flight segments a year. The benefits include 6 or more Systemwide Upgrade Certificates a year and 2 Confirmed North America Upgrades every quarter you fly 10,000 or more miles. This is in addition to the PremEx benefits such as 100% mileage bonus etc. Randomman |
It's really the 1K name that is a misnomer - technically, a "K" is 1,000 (or 1024 to us techies). 100K is the more correct designation of someone who flies 100K miles per year, but I assume that the code that is used to designate levels in the computer is limited to just 2 characters, so the designation 1K is used, when in reality it is 100K (100,000).
If you had three characters it could be: .1M or four 0.1M. Either way doesn't look that great in print. So we're usually stuck with 1K when they mean 100K. Billy |

In NRT, they also allow Premier to board with F/ C Class passengers. I don't think they like that in Hong Kong .

There should be some differences between 1K and 100K.

I'm pretty sure that 100K is not same as 1K. However I can't figure out what the differences are. |
Check out this picture.

I wouldn't say Delta3MM is wrong since K for kilo means 10^3. Thus 100*10^3 can be 100,000. But I think the K of 1K doesn't simply imply kilo. It's just the name of a status. Why would UA bother to use 1K for someone's stub and 100K for other's stub? |

It has got to be the same thing - as 1K stands for a 100K flyer. |
This is a ridiculous thread. In United's world, 1K = 100K, there's no difference.
I don't have a ticket stub in front of me, but I thought it actually said "Premier Exec 100K". Or is that on the big part of the boarding pass, can't remember... I can't believe I can't remember this, I've seen the BP like 1,000 (or 1K) times. In any case, it gets even stranger. Online, your status is listed as 100K Premier on the Mileage summary. On the inflight manifest, we're listed as "100K flyer", unless we're also Million milers, in which case, it's "1K Million". "1K" is used for the two-digit status code (like 1P or 2P) in certain systems, and when you call in to make reservations, you're calling the "1K" desk. |
kv99 is correct.
I'm not sure what boarding stubs N227UA is looking at, but there is no such thing as a boarding stub (the part we the pax keep) that says "Premier Executive 1K" Time to give this one a rest. |
For an explanation of why it's officially called and trademarked "1K" and "Premier Executive 1K" vs. 100K or 100,000 Mile Flyer...see Post #3 in this thread of almost 4 years ago:
1K? Puh-leeze Today when you see "100K" on manifests, agent's screens, and on boarding passes...that's just more of a "longhand" display of the 1K designation and marketed trademark. |

Although it might seems to you as a ridiculous topic, I had no idea what it was since I don't have 1K experience. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Can anyone identify what MM stands for on the manifest? Is that milion miler? Then, how does manifest list the current status (1P/1K/UGS) of milion miler? |
doesn't it say
