Why did UAL drop IAD-SJU?
A friend of mine says it always seemed to be 85% capacity. It was started in November/December, and they have already yanked it. Anyone have knowledge why? (aside from the obvious speculation that it wasn't making $)

Seasonal Service
Looks like it runs Sundays only through September 5, then returns to daily service on December 16.

Thanks
That makes some sense. Although I don't know that it ever stops being in season down there.

after a brief spike at Thanksgiving, high season for much of the Caribbean starts Dec 15th running through early April. Ironic since much of the sweltery Northeast could actually go there to significantly cool off in July.

Keep in mind that UAL runs the weekly IAD-STT-SJU - and that the STT-SJU segment is all of 22 miles or something. It makes a heck of a lot more sense for them to run the flights through STT for tourists.
