No awards to SHA possible?
 
Whenever I try to book an award from Beijing to Shanghai and I enter SHA (Hongqiao) as destination, .bomb always switches to PVG. But there are definitely CA-flights/open award space to SHA.

Is there a trick to book an award to SHA on .bomb or can this only be done by calling UA?

EDIT: I have no idea why it's posted under "pre-merger" ;)

Isn't that frustrating? united.com has some trouble with some airports UA doesn't serve.

For example, they don't know about SAW (an alternate airport at Istanbul that has, e.g., LGW-SAW service on TK).

PEK-SHA generally constitutes a very poor return on miles (unless you're including it as part of a larger itin) because the train costs y555, and flights are even cheaper if you book ~10 days in advance.
