1K Onboard drink chits for 2012

Although I received my MP stickers for my 1K card, I'm wondering about the drink chits. Are the FAs accepting the old ones, if someone has some left over? What if people used all of theirs? Will 1Ks have to pay for their drinks until March?

BTW, I did a search for this topic and ran into multiple 80+ page threads, but did not find one specific to this topic. Mods can merge, if necessary.

Put your spare sticker on the chit.

Old ones are valid until June 30, 2012 so if you still have some leftover they're fine to use.

All the ones I've ever had expired end of January. Would you post a photo of your United drink chits with the June expiry date?

has this been set in stone?
I have quite a stack of no-expiry Continental Currency coupons (used the ones with expiry first)

If the date is true, I will be either really drunk or be comping drinks to co-pax in the next few months.

Maybe it's just the ones I got (qualified in 2011), but mine say until June 30. I thought it was standard since IIRC the ones I received at the beginning of 2010 were also good until June 2011 but I guess I was wrong!

I was told by an FA on Jan 30th that they don't really care about expiration dates but YMMV.

It's a moot point anyway I usually have about 3 opportunities a year to use them.

Yeah, I haven't gotten any new ones either. And for once I used all mine last year (more E flights + gave some away....)

We are still supposed to get them, right?

Tried to use an expired one (by 3 days) on Friday on COEX. FA originally pointed to the expiration date saying she couldn't take it - I then mentioned that UA/CO has dropped the ball by not getting us our 2012 materials yet (which have the new drink chits).

She then made a special 1 time exception for me

Had a UA FA say the same to me.

I still handed some out at the DEN airport bar.

I've never had a FA refuse one (or even look at the date). I know some do, but the majority don't seem to care.

I had two refused in the last week (for the first time in my 30+ year flying history) ...the second time, the Purser overruled the FA and stated that they would accept expired certs until the new materials are mailed. I wonder if this is from corporate or a Purser trying to accommodate customers during the transition? If it is the latter, good for him!!
