Attn SFO-CDG pax - what will you do without bmi?
First, UA cancelled the SFO-CDG non-stop last year. afterwards, the best trip for me was through LHR with a separate tix on bmi to cdg that i would buy online for cheap. this saved me hundreds over the FRA connections which are always $300-600 more. Now BMI has stopped the LHR-CDG flights. So, the other options are thru ORD (conencting to a horrible old 67 - with ok seats in Y and a waste of an upgrade in C) or thru IAD - (and if you've ever arrived and connected at int'l there i don't have to say more.) So what are other SFO-CDGers gonna do? I'm thinking the train from london once it moves to st pancras, CO or AA since i now have to connect anyway, or of course, my favorite, going to paris and never coming back!! You?

Connect through IAd or the last option, if I lived in SFO.

The best UA option is definately via IAD.
The idea of a taking Eurostar after a flight from the West Coast does not sound appealing...
I'd recommend:
a) AF non-stop --- it's a great airline.
b) If on a budget, try Icelandair via Reykjavik --- although I believe they only operate the SFO route in summer...

i've had mixed experiences on AF. but they are the only non-stop sfo-cdg. since i'm in paris now, maybe i'll just have to stay forever!

I haven't flown it yet, but I'm thinking SFO-FRA on UA (in order to upgrade with a SWU), then a connecting LH flight to CDG.

I should read more slowly.
Still, with the new taxes for flights in and out of London, the cost benefit compared to FRA might be gone in any case.

BA to CDG ? Almost as cheap as BMI, though you don't get the 125 miles

Anathema. Go stand in a corner! Why not AF on LHR-CDG while you are at it?
I just bought my last BMI ticket to cdg yesterday. I think security killed it. When they started forcing people to carry one bag (both at LHR and at CDG with the security goons at CDG 1), they essentially forced people to check bags- who needs to sit around for an hour waiting for their bag, when you can get downtown-to-downtown in 3 hours on Eurostar.
Of course, coming from the US , the trip from LHR to Waterloo is a massive pain

Then SFO-IAD-CDG all on UA makes more sense so that you upgrade with SWU all segments.
