DEN Gate Display Taunts Steelers Fans

Apologies in advance if this has already been posted in this forum (I'm an AA regular), but thought this was worth a laugh.

Denver airport openly trolls Steelers fans

Imagine being a Steelers fan that made the trip to Denver for the wild-card game between the Steelers and Broncos. You sat there in the cold, watching your team struggle for three hours, only to tie the game at the end of regulation and give you hope … until Tim Tebow crushed all your hopes and dreams with one flick of his golden wrist.

All you want to do is lick your wounds and get back home, where you can make sense of what just happened. You get to the airport, your head down, just wanting to sleep and drink the memories away on that long flight, but as you get to the gate, you're greeted with this:

Oh, that's low, United (snicker).

I guess a little bit of gloating goes with the territory. I know many Steelers fans, and they are not the shy, shrinking violet type. I'm sure the locals at the Denver airport heard their share of trash talk as the Terrible Towels paraded into town. Just one more little indignity to take with them on the way home.

As a Ravens fan, I love it!

And, of course, as a Broncos fan, I love it, too!

Wait till the Boston, Providence, Manchester and other NE destinations have a message about the better quarterback Tom Brady :)

Good Clean Fun!

As an avid football fan who has had to fly home from enemy territory many times before, something this mild is perfectly fine and to be expected.

We have been threatened with violence before for wearing our team colors and been called horrible things, and once even a Hilton night manager allowed a group of his "friends" gathered in the hotel lobby to harass and threaten us as we made our way through the lobby. Some of these goons followed us on the way to our room taunting us along the way, and all the while, the manager did nothing. My wife was terrified of the lobby goons and I had no choice but to take action against these guys. The net result was that the lobby goons were thrown out of the hotel, escorted from their rooms by numerous private security that were brought in to deal with the situation, and the night manager was terminated. A very satisfactory result.

...you have six superbowls under your belt, so you'll probably get over it pretty quickly.

I don't know. It's one thing if it is rooting for Denver before the game. Afterward, seems a bit childish to me, especially considering how much of a struggle it was to win this wild-card game, and the road game(s) they face ahead.

a struggle? They shouldn't have even been in the game had the ref not suffered from premature whistle blowing on that backwards pass that basically turned the game from a 14 point swing in the Broncos favor.

+1 Nice job by the refs on that one trying to protect Pittsburgh.

Getting back to the display, I don't think it was anything to get upset about. It wasn't a negative slam on anyone on the Steelers.

Some people take sports way too seriously.

I think that that is terrible. Good clean fun, perhaps, but that is twisting the knife IMHO.

we've turned into the "offended" society. people really need to just grow up. i think that was kinda funny and harmless at the same time. i actually would love to see more of that stuff at the hubs.
