Regional Upgrades - How many should have I received in 2011?

Hi Guys, I am trying to figure out how many regional upgrades I should have received in 2011.

I am a 1K in 2011 and I have flown more than 10,000 miles in each quarter of 2011. I made 1MM during the 4th quarter of 2011 and hit 1K at year end.

According to the program rules, I should receive 2 CR1s each quarter, 2 when I hit 75K and 2 more when I hit 100K. Then at year end I should get 2 CR1s (the final year we will get them) as a 1MM. This brings the total up to 14 CR1s in 2011. Am I correct?

Correct - BUT you had to be a 1K going into 2011 (based on 2010 flying), getting there via a challenge (as my wife did) would disallow you from getting the quarterly CR-1s.

And your 10K must 1) be UA or CO BIS, and 2) be credited to UAMP

This is actually pretty dang confusing to me too.

I have relatives, who I manage the account, that basically took exactly the same flights, credited some to CO, some to UA, and yet they got very different numbers of CR-1's.

I haven't decided if I have the stamina to deal with MP to figure out why.....

(Bolded) is the problem - any UA/CO credited to OP wouldn't count towards the 10K quarterly total

But see, that's the crazy part. It did count for one of them! And I think there are other reports out here of it counting too.

Bizarre. If you pull 12 month data on each site, could probably re-construct how many each deserved.

Thank you. I am a 1K going into 2011 (based on 2010 flying), all my quarterly 10K are UA BIS and credited to UA-MP. Now I just need to have the strength to chase after MileagePlus for my missing CR1s. *sigh*

depending on when you may some of the thresholds. it can take 2-3 weeks for the regionals to post -- especially if based on combined UA/CO activity.

FWIW, my CR-1s posted well within a week in Q1 - Q3, however, there is no sign of CR-1s for Q4 yet. I did fly 10k+ BIS on UA metal between Oct 1 and Dec 31, with the last flight (which also took me over the hump) being on December 30.

Hmmm...I thought the 75k and 100k plateau CR-1's were going to start in 2012? I believe I only got 2 per quarter and another 2 at the end of the year for being a MM.

No, they started in 2011 - they were supposed to replace the quarterly CR-1s, but due to flyer outcry they kept the quarterlies for another year. So this was an especially generous CR-1 earning year for a lot of us

And unless UA honors the MM annual CR-1 promise they made, the pair you likely just received is unfortunately your last.

You "luckily" missed the last sweep of the year. My flight passing 10K took place on 12/28, posted 12/30, and I had the quarterly CR-1s post on 1/2 or 1/3 IIRC. Of course, they backdated them to a 12/12 expiry, so thumbs down to that. You'll probably get 1/13.

Thanks for the explanation! to UA for backdating your CR-1s. We'll see whether mine are date 1/13.
