A stopover vs a Multicity Itinerary

I tried to research on this but no real luck.
Is ticket with stopover and multiple city ticket the same?

I see that on (some) ticket rules it mentions stopovers are allowed.

If they are multicity and stopover are 2 different categories, how do you make a 1 week stopover without doing a multicity?

As far as booking them, yes.

Calling it in is probably the easiest way

When booking your itinerary you use the multicity option to book anything other than a round trip. A multicity isn't always a stopover, it can be a connection (4 hours domestic, 24 hours int. or 12 hours for SWU).

Can also be just a random bunch of flights, with open jaws galore mixed in, etc.

Both are multi-leg trips. Probably the main difference is how they charge for it.

The cost and conditions may vary from city to city, and from one carrier to the next. This is where it may be useful to price it a variety of ways and pick the one that is best for you. I agree, call it in.

You can book round-trips through the multi-city page as well, and will sometimes get lower fares that way. It shouldn't happen, but it does.
