I just got an Easyupdate that my flight has been revised, for SATURDAY.

I received an Easy Update at 12:23 am for a flight on Friday at 5:30 pm indicating my flight was on time.

And I got an EZ Update this morning about my flight on Thursday that is also on time.

At first I though it might be a cancellation or a time change, but nah, it wasn't.

Received another one this morning about 23 hours before this flight tomorrow. No changes.

Could this have anything to do with a call made to our home # at 12.30am (Californian #, no more details) recently?

I just received an e-mail from UA informing me that my international flight from IAD on Saturday night, some 69 hours from now, is departing on time. UA also sent me a text message at the same time to advise me that this flight is on time. The text message even included the assigned gate. Is Nostradamus on UA's payroll these days? Strangely, no word on the domestic connecting segment which will take me to IAD. Is it on time? ;)

I received 2 texts at 9 am informing me that my 9/3 SFO-DEN flight is on time. Then 20 minutes ago I received 2 more texts informing me that the 9/3 DEN-IAD flight (to which I'm connecting) is on time. I thought it was my waitlisted upgrade that had finally cleared, but alas, it's just EasyUpdate being extra thorough in updating me.

I got a call at 20:00 tonight saying my flight tomorrow 611 was on-time (this was the 2nd call in as many days).

Now here is what is great, I get a notification from Blackberry travel saying 611 is cancelled, but still haven't heard word one from United.

So I call, being proactive and get rebooked for the earlier flight, then after getting off the phone I get the rebooking email saying that UA was nice enough to rebook my trip to Hawaii for Friday, instead of rebooking me to the earlier flight 50m earlier to get to Chicago. UNREAL

Same thing is happening to me - it's obnoxious.

Departure Reminder Messages @ 48 hours?

I've been getting Departure Reminder Messages (text messages) 48 hours before my flight rather than the usual 3 hours. I checked my settings on the web page and it still says 3 hours. Anyone else noticed this change?

kemchong Sep 1, 2011 7:47 am

I got that too but no more messages when it is close to departure. When one of my flights was delayed more than 3 hours last week, I only received a second notification of new estimated departure time.

I bought a FlightTrack Pro app for my iphone and it works like a charm. Get notification and updates of the flight faster than United's gate or flights departure board.

Call them Travel Un-Alerts

Last night I got email, more than 36 hours in advance, THE FOLLOWING FLIGHT TIME HAS BEEN REVISED. But this SFO-NRT flight is leaving at the same time it has been scheduled since May. This according to the email and according to the flight status report this morning. I thought that "Flight Time" might refer to how long the flight was going to take. But if so, there appears to be no way of finding this out and the term used on-line is "Duration."

iluv2fly Sep 1, 2011 7:56 am

So the flight for which I received the EZ Updates leaves in less than two hours. I didn't receive the usual alert three hours before the flight - nada to date.
